Georgett Johnson is a graduate of Kansas State University and holds a BA in Family Life and Community Services with a minor in Leadership Studies and American Ethnic Studies. Ms. Johnson also holds a Master of Divinity from Hood Theological Seminary. As a result of her educational background and over 25 years combined experience working with youth and utilizing her organizational development skills, Ms. Johnson serves her clients in the community, nonprofit and for-profit organizations, and the faith-based community.
Ms. Johnson currently serves in several capacities in Charlotte, NC and surrounding areas. She is a master organizer, strategist and consultant. She has served as an executive leader in several organizations including Alliance Center for Education, YWCA of the Central Carolinas, The Core Church International, New Bethel Church of God in Christ Youth Department and The Community Hub (Charlotte, NC). Ms. Johnson’s consultation services have also allowed her to partner with organizations such as West Boulevard Ministry, I-Ready Literacy Program and the nationally aired television show, Returning the Favor with Mike Rowe
Ms. Johnson is motivated by her love for the education and upward mobility of youth and families. She firmly believes that everyone has the innate ability to be a great leader and it is her desire and life’s work to empower and encourage them to be the great leaders they are destined to be.
The "George Johnson Jr. Academic and Service Scholarship" commemorates his passion for youth having unconditional support and love to succeed in whatever path they choose to endeavor. The scholarship is a tribute to the legacy of this great man and his unconditional support and love to all young people he came in contact with. Not only did he provide support through attending functions but he also provided support financially. These scholarships will provide financial assistance to a deserving young person in school who is working towards bettering themselves academically and working to make a difference in their community.
